What is the TDAC?

Understanding the Thailand Digital Arrival Card

The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is the mandatory online declaration that every foreign visitor must submit before entering Thailand. Introduced by the Royal Thai Immigration Bureau, it permanently replaced the long-standing paper TM6 form in May 2025 — modernising border control, reducing queues at the airport and giving immigration officers an accurate picture of every incoming traveller.

The form collects basic identification information, your passport and travel details, your accommodation in Thailand and your health declaration. Once approved, you'll receive a QR-coded confirmation that immigration officers scan on arrival.

Is the Thailand Digital Arrival Card mandatory in 2026?

Yes. As of 1 May 2025, the Royal Thai Immigration Bureau requires every foreign national arriving in Thailand by air, land or sea to complete the TDAC. The paper TM6 form has been permanently retired. Travellers who do not submit the TDAC before arrival can experience long delays at immigration.

How early should I apply for the TDAC?

Applications open 72 hours (3 days) before your scheduled arrival in Thailand. We recommend submitting at least 24 hours in advance so there is time to fix any errors or upload missing information.

What documents do I need to apply?

You'll need a valid passport with at least 6 months validity, your flight or transport details, your accommodation address in Thailand and a recent photo. Our form will walk you through everything step by step.

Do I still need a visa if I complete the TDAC?

The TDAC is not a visa. Citizens of visa-exempt countries (such as India, the UK, the USA, Australia and most EU nations) can enter Thailand without a visa for tourism — but they still need to file the TDAC. Travellers who need a visa must obtain it separately, in addition to the TDAC.
